I've not the foggiest idea if this has been mentioned or not, but i should like to draw your wild speculation to this.

Yep, it's the Someplace Else page, but the use of the word 'parallax' always strikes me. Parallax of course most commonly refers to an error caused by observing something from the 'wrong' angle (a car speedometer is the example I usually think of).
Eh, you lot work it out.

The parallax method is how we calculate the distance to the stars, it is calculated using the parallax.

I know that Parallax was Adam's old unfinished HL1 mod from 1999. Apparently there is/was a version of it hidden on this site somewhere. I couldn't be bothered to look for it so here's someplace else that has it (pun intended).

The ending of SomethingElse seems to fit the meaning of the word parallax pretty well.
